Celery and Social Networks. 5 Things I Have Learned During Earthquake Hackathon.

When the earthquake hit Northern Italy last year the most reliable information source were the social networks. We wanted to squeeze all their potential to help spread the information. However, most popular social networks such as Twitter and Facebook have rate limits, multiple error messages for the same exception and other broken functionalities. Sometimes (often) they can drive you crazy. Celery can help you deal with it by providing a reliable and fast social features to your website. Most of celery’s supporters points out its stability and performance. I will focus on intelligent distribution, covering topics like: task organization and policies, fail-overs and rate limitings.
